KEMIT is a Rwandan local NGO establish in 2001. The organization is managed by a Board of 7 Directors. Daily activities are coordinated by a Francois L. Woukoache, a film director and producer with more than 22 years of experience at international level. He graduated from INSAS a film and television school in Brussels.
Woukoache’s films were rewarded in many international festivals throughout the world:

  • Best documentary film at FESPACO in Ouagadougou 1997 and Best short  film and Films critics’ award at Milan in 1996 for the film “ASIENTOS”;
  • Best montage at Zanzibar in 2001 for “We aren’t dead any more”;
  • Award of recognition at Toronto in 1996
KEMIT has its own technical equipment: Professional digital cameras, sound equipment, lighting & grip materials; editing facilities; equipment for video screening, etc.

The equipment and the commitment of our team have enabled us to train more than 200 people from various public and private institutions as well as from the civil society.

A series of 8 short films for children, 2 episode of a pilot for a TV series on HIV-AIDS,
3 TV shows, an Edumentary series on health of 48 episodes lasting 15mn each.
